AviaAM Financial Leasing China, a joint venture between AviaAM Leasing and Henan Civil Aviation Development and Investment Company (HNCA), has acquired its fourth Airbus A320 family aircraft.

On June 23, the 20 business and 120 economy seatsconfigured aircraft was handed to Aeroflot – Russian Airlines. Under the operating lease contract, the Russian flag carrier will operate the aircraft for the next 12 years.

The newly-built aircraft was delivered as a part of a previously signed Memorandum of Understanding between AviaAM Financial Leasing China and Aeroflot – Russian Airlines, covering the sale and lease back of total eight ex-factory Airbus A320/A321 aircraft. The legal assistance for the lease was provided by DLA Piper.

“Our joint venture in China with Henan Civil Aviation Development and Investment Company (HNCA) was launched a year ago. We are happy about the successful implementation of the contract details with Aeroflot, this is already the fourth delivery to the air carrier with at least four more to be handed in throughout July,” said Tadas Goberis, chairman of the Board and CEO of AviaAM Leasing.

The leasing company also sold 3 Airbus A320 family aircraft from its fleet with lease attached. The ownership of the aircraft was transferred to the new owner together, Small Planet Airlines Poland, with operating lease contract.

“We are happy about the seven-year-standing partnership together with Small Planet Airlines. At first, AviaAM Leasing provided Boeing 737s for the air carrier across the Small Planet Airlines bases in Europe. We hope that these Airbus A320 family aircraft will only strengthen our partnership and will support the enlargement plans of the company in the upcoming future,” said Goberis.

Small Planet Airlines further will operate Airbus A321s on its most popular routes between Poland and the Mediterranean Sea resorts. - TradeArabia News Service
