Ooredoo readies special song for Kuwait National Day

KUWAIT, February 18, 2017

Ooredoo, a leading telecom services operator in Kuwait, said it has produced a special song to mark the National Day on February 25 in style performed by the famous singer Balqees and featuring talk show personality Abla Fahita.

The song has been written by lyricist Saad Al Musailem, composed by Fahad Al Nasser and directed by Ahmed Al Najjar.

With her mellifluous voice and sincere performance, Balqees croons in praise of Kuwait and the unique characteristics of its people, including the country’s distinguished dialect and other qualities of which they are known in the Gulf region.

The song’s sincere lyrics are coupled with a great melody that combines different musical modalities from around the region, symbolizing the harmonious relationship Kuwaiti enjoy with their neighboring countries, said a statement from Ooredoo.

The video clip of the song features a unique performance by well-known Egyptian puppet character Abla Fahita, who received nationwide recognition for her satirical talk show in which she humorously tackles trending social and political issues, it stated.

The video also features well-known social media influencers such as Yaqoub Boushahri, Hessa Al-Loughani, Louluah Al-Aslawi, Hessa and Munirah Al-Kulaib, and the Kuwait National Television Music Band.

Commenting on the new video, Ooredoo Kuwait’s senior director of corporate communications Mijbil Alayoub said: "We are happy to share the joy of the national holidays with the people of Kuwait with this song – this participation is deep-rooted within our company’s values of caring and connecting."

"We aim to have a proactive role in all the events that matter to our audience, and we plan to launch a series of activities throughout the national holidays that we are certain they will enjoy," he stated.

Branding senior manager Fatima Al Mukhaizeem said the theme, lyrics and music were carefully selected to reflect a certain message in the song.

“We wanted to celebrate everything that is beautiful about Kuwait and its wonderful people. We selected the lyrics and music to symbolise the harmonious unity of Kuwaitis. We had the pleasure to collaborate with beloved characters such as Balqees and Abla Fahita, and were happy to collaborate with a number of the most admired social media personalities,” she added.

Al Mukhaizeem said the song’s video clip features a number of Kuwait’s most visited tourist attractions, including the old Muabrakiya Souk, in addition to Shaheed Park and Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmed Cultural Center.

The song is produced by Senyar, which has collaborated with Ooredoo on a number of award-winning projects including Ooredoo’s Ramadan TVC in 2016 and 2015.

Ooredoo said it will launch a series of activities during the national holidays to interact directly with people in different locations across Kuwait, including some activities at Murooj Market, Kuwait’s most-visited youth and entrepreneur outdoors market to which Ooredoo is a strategic sponsor.

Additionally, Ooredoo will continue to distribute national holiday paraphernalia.-TradeArabia News Service
