The Expo Village ... residential project for Expo 2020.

KEO delivers design, supervision services for Expo Village

DUBAI, August 16, 2017

KEO International Consultants, a leading design, engineering and project management firm, is providing design and construction supervision services for the Expo Village, a residential community development being developed by the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) in Dubai, UAE.

The village will host visitors and participants of Expo 2020 Dubai.

KEO has previously been commissioned to concept design the buildings and infrastructure of the entire Expo Village and provide full design and construction supervision of Phase One of the development.

The development, expected to be delivered by the fourth quarter of 2019, promises to be a community-based development defined by efficient design coupled with high sustainability principles, KEO said.

KEO has already completed the technical design for six parcels and provided the supervision services for piling works of five parcels and the first main contractor has been awarded, with more supervision work under way.

Donna Sultan, president and CEO of KEO, said: “We are very proud to be the design consultant of a legacy development such as the Expo Village, which will support the successful delivery of Expo 2020 Dubai – the first World Expo to be held in the region.  The completion of the design phase and the supervision is only made successful through the dedicated efforts of our international team of experts and the effective collaboration with the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) as well as the various stakeholders involved."

This development, with 2,273 apartment units, will host thousands of Expo participants. It will also include retail and community facilities comprising a school, a daycare centre, and a healthcare facility.

The project is located adjacent to the Expo 2020 area and consists of 11 plots, each with podium parking and state-of-the-art buildings, to be delivered in two phases. It will be seamlessly connected to the extension of Dubai Metro’s Red Line servicing Expo 2020.

The Expo Village will be designed to achieve Leed (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold certification and within a building information model framework. -TradeArabia News Service
